Immersive Translate: Read Websites in Two Languages

Immersive Translate is useful when you want to read a website with the original text and a translation together. Start with a short article to see whether the result helps you understand it.

Install it in your browser

Open the official installation page, choose your browser, and follow its extension-store link. Pin the extension to your toolbar so you can find it later.

Translate your first page

1. Open a page in another language.
2. Click the Immersive Translate toolbar icon.
3. Choose your target language and start translating.
4. Read alongside the original and check any unclear passages.

Choose a reading setup

Try the default settings first. Bilingual display helps when you want to keep checking the original. Compare the same passage before changing translation services; some options may require a subscription.

If nothing appears

Refresh the page and check that the extension is enabled. Try a plain text article to see whether the problem is specific to the current website. Scanned images and complex layouts may need a different translation method.

Use translation as a reading aid. Check names, numbers and important conditions against the original when accuracy matters.
