TL; DR

If you're a geek player, it's worth a try; if you're an average player, just keep using Sunflower.

How Tailscale Simple Interconnection Works

The most direct way to get two devices to communicate with each other is, of course, physical connection. Plug in a network cable, and you get the other device's IP, then access it without any obstacles.

But in real-world scenarios, one device might be at home, another at the office, and a phone on the road. At this point, each device sits in a completely different network environment:

  1. A few devices have a dedicated, unique public IPv4 or IPv6;
  2. Many more devices are hidden behind a router, assigned only a private address via Network Address Translation (NAT).

This network structure prevents devices from establishing a direct connection.
